I'm not certain, but this is likely the AUD tape
made by Scott Jones, with Shure mics into a Sony
TC-158 cassette deck (he taped both nights). It
clearly sounds like it was made within the first
fifteen rows or so, and is an excellent recording
for this period.
Over the years, we've all heard the excellent sbd
tapes of this great show. Now here it is from the
audience perspective, which is thrilling to hear.
Enjoy this tremendous tape! With a big tip of the
cap to Jake Feinberg for sharing these discs.

All time favorite Althea.Just long and mellow with a super hot theme about it. Many go to this show to hear the Glory jam and first CC rider but this A L T H E A. Is where its at for me. sounds pretty good also

Great show, fair recording
My 3rd and probably favorite Dead show. Took off on Sugaree and never stopped. But the quality is lacking compared to some other 1979 shows (May 9 Binghamton comes to mind).
I've seen it noted here before under a different Pittsburgh show, but there is a general lack of quality recordings of Pittsburgh shows.

a bit overrated
I do think this show has some special moments and certainly a desire, but it really just doesn't seem as 'on' as so many others. But so many love this one (as do so many the cornell 77).

Great recording - hot show!
Found this apparent matrix recording today and thought I'd give it a try. Haven't finished the whole thing yet, but so far so good. There are a few sour notes during Jack Straw but Jerry makes up for it during Suragee. Try it you'll like it!
